The Old Farmhouse is an 18th-century conversion on a working farm near Hexham, set within open countryside. Everything sits on the ground floor, making it straightforward to navigate. There are two bedrooms (both with zip-and-link beds that split into singles on request), two wet rooms with shower and toilet, and a generous open-plan living space with woodburner and large windows that frame the farmland beyond. A fitted kitchen handles proper cooking, and the decked garden with sitting-out area and BBQ opens directly from the lounge.
Two guests can park on site, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard, along with wi-fi. The property suits families after space and easy access, couples wanting a peaceful retreat, and anyone who needs ground-floor living. Grindon Farm is nearby; the sister cottage Grindon Cartshed can be booked alongside if you're gathering a larger party.

What guests say
Lovely remote cottage with great views during the day and night - the night sky is breath taking. Lovely welcome from the owners who left you alone unless you needed anything. The cottage is lovely, spacious and has a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of storage for clothes. We found the location perfect as a hub for all the areas we wanted to visit.
