Riverside Pods - Hedgehog Hideaway

Hedgehog Hideaway is a compact pod on a small country park beside the River Wansbeck. The open-plan interior gives you a living space with sofa bed, freeview TV and bi-fold doors onto your own raised decking; a kitchen corner with microwave and air fryer; a bedroom with a double bed; and a shower room. Everything comes included—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—so you arrive to a ready-made base. There is parking for one car on site.

The pod sits in woodland that became a local nature reserve in 2007, where you might see red squirrels, roe deer, rabbits and birds. The river here is suitable for launching kayaks and paddleboards from a nearby slipway. Cyclists have access to local routes and walkers can follow the river downstream. The on-site café serves daily, and the surrounding area offers a mix of shops, bars and beaches—Newbiggin by the Sea is four miles away. Sleeping three, it suits small groups or families; no smoking is permitted inside.
