The Cottage Highfield

The Cottage Highfield works well for small families or couples wanting a base in Northumberland countryside. Two double bedrooms sleep five in total—one has an additional single bed suitable for a child—with a bathroom and separate toilet upstairs. Downstairs, the living and dining spaces are open plan with a wood-burning stove, and the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking. A travel cot is available if needed. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

Essentials like heating, electricity, Wi-Fi and bed linen are all included, and you have your own parking on site. The cottage sits in Morpeth itself, within walking distance of the market town's pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. The Turks Head is nearby. For days out, Alnwick Castle is roughly 12 miles away, and there's cycling along the Sandstone Way which passes close by. The surrounding landscape offers moorland and forest walks from your door, including routes up into the hills. No smoking inside.
