The West Wing

Wooler's cafes and pubs sit two miles away, and the Cheviot Hills rise beyond them—The West Wing occupies the edge of North Doddington Farm, where the surrounding countryside opens up for walking straight from the door. The farm itself produces award-winning cheese and ice cream, samples of which arrive with you; it's the kind of place where what you eat comes from fields you can see.

The cottage is yours alone, with a bedroom upstairs containing a zip-and-link bed that splits into two singles if needed, and a bathroom with both bath and shower. Downstairs, the living room has a woodburner and a sofa bed for occasional extra sleeping; the kitchen is properly equipped for cooking. A patio and garden face south, with parking for two cars on site. WiFi, heating, linen and towels are all included; smoking is not permitted indoors.

Two guests is the limit here. The Glendale Valley sits within a designated Dark Skies area, so nights are notably clear—worth knowing if you're planning to actually look up.
