About Hotel Belmonte
Prince of Wales Road runs straight down toward Norwich's historic core, and Hotel Belmonte sits among its bars and restaurants, making it a practical base for exploring Norwich Cathedral and the city's other attractions. It's a compact hotel with just eight rooms, each finished with bold feature wallpaper that gives the place a bit of personality rather than a standard chain look.
Rooms come with free WiFi and drinks available on request, and the hotel has its own restaurant and bar on site alongside a garden for quieter moments. There's a lift, air conditioning, and porter and concierge services for guests who want a bit more looking after, plus meeting rooms and wedding facilities for those planning an event rather than just a stay.
Being on a street known for its nightlife, the hotel can feel lively rather than peaceful, so it suits guests who don't mind some buzz outside their window. Free on-site parking is a genuine practical plus in a city where that's not always easy to come by, and the surrounding area has no shortage of pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy walking distance.

I don’t normally write reviews but I feel some reviews here are overly harsh. No this isn’t the Ritz nor does it claim to be. It’s a budget hotel with lovely staff, clean rooms, and affordable rates. The key card security system made us feel safe in the room. If you’re okay with a bit of noise, as it is above a night club, I would really recommend this family run hotel. If not maybe just go to holiday inn or something.

I agree. This is a budget hotel. The room is immaculate. The shower is hot. Staff congenial. What is not to love…

Wish I read the reviews beforehand! Why why why would you have a hotel above a night club??? And it's clearly the same owners, so it's not like the night club moved in after. There is NO way you can sleep here while the club is open, it is so so so loud. Just completely unreasonable to ask people to pay for this. I will be asking for a refund.

When we first arrived it took at least 10/15 mins before someone came to the door and let us in. This was with us calling the numbers on the door with no answers aswell. Hotel room was basic. Bit dirty on some areas aswell as the shower being broken so you had to stand and hold it above you. No hit water in the bathroom tap both just cold. In the night we had to leave for an emergency and new we wouldn't be able to return in the morning we was calling all the numbers given with either the line having been cut or no answer at all and we called multiple times. No one was around we was in the place completely on our own no other guests either. What sort of hotel is this! Absolutely disgraceful. The bar wasn't even open when we was told it would be until late so couldn't even hand the key in there. We ended up videoing ourselves putting the key card in the key box thing on the wall and us leaving and sitting the lock door behind us as proof. Awful experience wouldn't reccomend. And we are still probably going to get charged for leaving early even though we had to get home because of family emergency during the night and did everything we could to contact someone.
