About Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre

Norwich packs its cathedral, castle and river walks into an easily walkable centre, and Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre puts guests within reach of all three from its spot on Prince Of Wales Road. The train station is close at hand too, making this a practical base whether you have arrived by rail or car, with chargeable on-site parking available for the latter.

The hotel has 185 rooms spread across three floors, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and drinks available in the room. Accessible rooms are on offer, and a lift serves all floors. Staff are on hand around the clock at the 24 hour reception, and breakfast is a genuine highlight, with a good range of options to set guests up for the day. There is an on-site restaurant for evening meals too. It is worth noting that some rooms show signs of wear, so those particular about finish may want to bear this in mind.

Beyond the hotel doors, Norwich's pubs and bars are within easy reach for an evening out, and the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and horse riding for those wanting to venture further afield. Entertainment options nearby round out a stay that works equally well for a city break or a stopover en route elsewhere.

We stayed at the Premier Inn Norwich Nelson City Centre Hotel for one night as a stopover before heading to Horsey Gap early the next morning to see the seals. We chose this hotel because we’ve always had good experiences with Premier Inn, and this location stood out as it offers its own parking—something not all city centre hotels provide. It was our first visit to Norwich, and we were hoping for somewhere convenient for exploring, particularly the cathedral and city centre—and it didn’t disappoint. We arrived shortly after the 3pm check-in and were greeted warmly by staff, who also helped us book a breakfast slot for the following morning. Our family room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped, with an ensuite bathroom, TV, a comfortable double bed, and a sofa bed for our son. A small but important detail—there were plenty of plug sockets for charging devices, which is always appreciated. After settling in, we took a walk around the Norwich Cathedral Quarter and then followed the River Wensum from St James Mill back to the hotel. The location really couldn’t have been better for exploring on foot. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay in a great location—ideal for both a short stopover or a city break. Would happily stay again.

Only posting as i got no feedback from their email. Spent extra here for the early check in and better room but the room we were given was dirty , bed already slept in and cups were all used. The room had not been made up from previous occupants. We were given another room but not much of an apology. Like the room its left a stain with booking premier in again.

Always stay at Norwich Nelson City Centre right on the riverside & across the road from station & close to bus trips to go into the City, this Premier Inn is by way in our opinion the best PI we have stayed in. Right from the start speaking to the extremely helpful Jayne late in an evening to book a ground floor room through to Lynn personally calling me to book meal times as it was the local football derby & the restaurant was getting booked up. Then reception staff including Jack who were so helpful with our queries. The housekeeping team keep the rooms spotless. Extra tea etc are available in the foyer. The Table to table team were amazing in keeping breakfast supplies running & hot & tables cleared on a fully packed breakfast visitors for the local football derby. The bed, pillows & room were all very comfortable making the visit even better. Having a riverside room is lovely watching the swans, boats & paddle boarders going by. I highly recommend the Norwich Nelson City Centre PI.

We recently stayed at the Premier Inn in Norwich and had one of the most wonderful hotel experiences we’ve ever had and that’s entirely thanks to the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, Shaun, Karim, and Jayne went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care for guests truly stood out. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they consistently made the atmosphere warm, relaxed, and welcoming. Shaun was exceptionally attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our stay. Karim was equally fantastic — helpful, polite, and always ready with a smile. Jayne brought such a lovely energy and kindness that made every interaction a pleasure. Together they create a team that clearly takes pride in providing outstanding service. It’s rare to come across staff who make such a positive and lasting impression, but these three absolutely did. They are without a doubt the best hotel staff we have ever encountered. Thank you Shaun, Karim, and Jayne for making our stay in Norwich so memorable. Premier Inn is very lucky to have such an exceptional team.
