About The Red Lion Eaton
The Red Lion Eaton is a classic English pub turned hotel, its bar and restaurant forming the heart of the building on Eaton Street just outside Norwich. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available to order, and the property runs a 24 hour reception, so arrival times are never a worry. Free on-site parking makes it a practical base for exploring the city and the wider Norfolk countryside.
The kitchen is the property's strongest suit, with a restaurant serving hearty, generous plates including a well-regarded Sunday roast and a solid range of gluten-free options. There's outdoor seating for warmer days and a proper breakfast to start the morning. Staff are generally friendly and give good value for money, though service has occasionally been inconsistent according to some visitors.
Beyond the pub itself, the surrounding area offers golf and fishing for those wanting to fill a day, along with further pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach. It's a straightforward, comfortable option for anyone wanting a proper meal and a bed for the night close to Norwich.

Honestly, do not look any further. Pick up your phone and make a reservation now. You will not be disappointed. The food is outstanding and service is just as good. What a truly exceptional experience we had today. Sunday roast was perfection, quality meat with loads of lovely vegetables all served perfectly cooked. This was all topped of by exceptional service from a team of staff led by the most professional, positive and competent manager that we've witnessed for many years. It was a delight to witness someone so keen that she and her team made the whole experience positive for customers.

We have just had a Sunday roast at the Red Lion. It's was the most amazing roast I've ever had. Quality, quantity and flavour. The staff were great. So friendly and efficient. Pity we don't live near here but then if we did I would be size of a house

Stayed 1 night as we were seeing the DMAs at the uni. I mention this so you know how good my taste is and you should take my review seriously. When the machines attack in The War Of The Worlds, the sound they make? Thats what happens every single time anyone in any of the rooms turns on a tap, flushes the toilet, runs the shower or thinks about H2O, because this hotel loves water pumps. This hotel is perfect if you like to test your sleep ability under pressure and you've progressed from foghorns. There is no blind or curtain on the large window in the bathroom. Which is overlooked by a main road and the houses opposite. This hotel is perfect if you want to maintain strong eye contact with anyone at the bus stop when you're in the shower. Between the main road, the War Of The Worlds and the staff rearranging furniture at 6.30am, you're not sleeping. Sat down for breaky but left because of the flies. Gross high 5. The flies did look sluggish though, I presume because they kept getting woken up by the alien-foghorn-waterpumps. The mugs were nice.

Diners like this pub's delicious and plentiful food, especially the Sunday roast and quality meat dishes, with many options including gluten-free. They also highlight the friendly, professional staff, welcoming atmosphere, and good value.
Some reviews mention the service can be poor.
