About Travelodge Norwich Cringleford

Norwich sits within easy reach of Thickthorn Service Area, where Travelodge Norwich Cringleford offers a straightforward base for visiting the city or breaking a journey along the A11 and A47. It's a practical stop for business trips, leisure visits or travellers just passing through, with free on-site parking available on a first-come, first-served basis and an electric vehicle charge point for those who need one.

The hotel has 40 rooms spread across two floors, each with an en-suite bathroom and drinks available in the room; accessible rooms are also on offer, and dogs are welcome. Reception is staffed around the clock, and while the rooms are kept clean and comfortable, some are a little dated and the WiFi doesn't always hold up. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.

There's no restaurant on site, but a Burger King and other dining options are nearby for guests who don't want to head into Norwich itself. It's a no-frills choice suited to anyone wanting a comfortable, affordable overnight stay close to the main roads into the city.

Stayed here for a long weekend and had a very pleasant experience. (Couple)Communication at reception was excellent—the lady at the desk was very helpful, and check-in was smooth. She clearly explained how everything worked. Basic tea and coffee were provided in the room, along with towels and basic hand, face, and hair wash amenities. SIDE NOTE: Internet was free for the first 30 minutes; after that, purchasing a package is recommended if you need continued access. Overall, I would return to this hotel. Thank you team

So when exactly did Travelodge give up trying to compete with Premier Inn and decide to just squeeze every penny of profit out of their customers by delivering an absolutely bottom end budget experience? Two nights in this so called 'hotel' was more than enough. Rooms are admittedly clean but so bare of any kind of comfort it's just depressing. Towlels had holes and stains, bathrooms are 'tired' to be kind, carpets are stained. As for service, it's practically nonexistent, we arrived about 4pm, to be greeted by a sign asking us to call a phone number for service, 10 minutes later someone turned up to check us in. There's not restaurant option, just a dreadful breakfast box option and terrible fast food options nearby. If you really do have to stay heat make sure you ask for a room at the back to avoid the constant noise from the garage opposite or the staff and customers who congregate outside the front entrance to smoke and chatter at all hours.

Spotlessly clean! The tiles in the bathroom were shining! Warm, cosy & relaxing in my room (4) - exactly as described on the Travelodge website. The bed was very comfy, had 3 nights well-earned sleep after driving. I adjusted the heating up & down easily to suit. (I had my window open as don't like it too warm). Took my 2 tiny well behaved pups & they had plenty of room to stretch & snooze. The man on reception when I arrived Friday & the one Sat/Sun/Mon mornings were very friendly & helpful. The cleaner lady/hygiene technician :) who I passed on Saturday morning was very kind. There's plenty of milk, teabags, coffee, etc in a basket in reception so I didn't have to ask - only asked for my breakfast box which was value for money at £5.95 each, a light breakfast to start the day. The Reception was manned 24/7 & as a solo traveller, I felt safe throughout my stay. I will definitely book again soon on my next visit to family.

I have stayed in many hotels over the years, but I can honestly say I have never experienced a welcome as warm, sincere, and professional as the one I received from Oskar at the front desk. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, his energy was incredibly inviting. He didn't just 'check me in'; he took the time to walk me through every single detail of the property with genuine care and patience. It was clear that he wasn't just following a script—he truly cared about the quality of my stay and wanted to ensure I felt completely at home. What impressed me most was his thoughtfulness. He made a point of letting me know he was on duty until 11:00 PM and encouraged me to come back to him personally if I needed absolutely anything at all. In an industry that can sometimes feel transactional, Oskar’s considerate nature and dedication to guest needs were a breath of fresh air. If you are looking for a hotel that prioritizes exceptional service, look no further. This was a five-star experience from the very first minute, and it is staff members like Oskar who make a business truly stand out. I will certainly be returning!
