Booked for 3 days as a last minute getaway. We booked Highfield mainly due to lack if availability elsewhere but this was fortuitous for us. Well maintained site with a lovely beach just a few minutes walk from the site. We loved our time here and decided to extend our stay by two days. Great place for a nice break with my partner and son. The cabin was lovely, quiet setting, good facilities and very friendly staff that were willing to assist as soon as required.

No one was there when we arrived, and the reception desk said we should call. We did, and the groundskeeper was friendly. Basically, the place has everything you need, at least in theory. But that's where the positives end. The showers are push-button showers that keep turning off. Every time you press the button, ice-cold water comes out briefly. The light in the room only comes on when the door is locked (!). This means you have to struggle with the absurdly complicated locking system in complete darkness. Who comes up with these ideas? There is no partition wall, so the shower completely floods the floor and toilet. Next to it is a squeegee, apparently in the hope that guests will compensate for the lack of fixtures by cleaning. Even worse: we came here specifically to do laundry, which we couldn't manage during the hurricane. The site advertises “24-hour laundry.” Unfortunately, the groundskeeper explained to us that this refers to the main site. That's more than a hundred meters away—are we supposed to bring the laundry back from there in the pouring rain? The machines were also expensive, and the dryer only (!) takes 50-pence coins. You can get change at the main reception, but it's already closed (shortly after 6 p.m.). And he, the groundskeeper, is not allowed to give change. In the end, we had to wash our underwear and socks in the shower. Dear management: if you don't trust your own employees enough to exchange 50 pence coins, find a new job.

We stayed in one of the Glencoe pods (Monday to Friday) What a perfect setup these pods are! Everything is already supplied for you all you need to do is bring your clothes and food 👍🏼 Very well looked after cabins! Hot tub was fresh and warm ready for our arrival! Cabins have nice decked seating area, with and without cover. Table and chairs And big fire pit / BBQ. Information booklet supplied was informative and helped us with a couple of bits. Great location for getting to Oban and other surrounding areas. 100% recommend this place! Thanks 🙏🏼
