About Shenavallie Farm

Shenavallie Farm is a working farm turned guesthouse in Benderloch, near Oban, offering the kind of countryside setting that puts hills and mountains right outside the window. The farm still functions as a working holding, giving the place a genuine rural character rather than a manufactured one, and it sits within easy reach of Oban's attractions.

Rooms are cosy and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks provided in-room, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Breakfast is served each morning, and packed lunches can be arranged for days out. Outside, there's a garden and picnic area with outdoor seating, ideal for taking in the views, and free on-site parking is provided. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times are flexible.

The surrounding area offers golf and fishing nearby, along with pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries within reach for evening meals. There's also local entertainment on hand for those wanting more than a quiet night in. It's a straightforward base for exploring Oban and the wider Argyll countryside, with the farm setting itself as much a part of the stay as anything else.

This place is wonderful! I truly loved the location, away from it all but very close to it all as well. Oban was a quick drive as was Glencoe. The host was very accommodating and the food she prepped was delicious. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. I would definitely choose it again! There was a great restaurant close by called Hawthorn so if you wanted to stay close there were good eating options.

We try to choose rural farms for our places to stay when on holiday. We hit the jackpot with this location… it is very, very rural on a working farm and very quiet. Elaine (the owner) has a many sheep and registered Highland Coos (cows). She is good friends with the owner of the Hawthorn Restaurant which is not far from the farm, there is no need to eat anywhere else. Tam and Mary Anne at the Restaurant were very pleasant and provided excellent service and food at a good price, we ate there every night we stayed. Shenavaille Farm was located down a couple single track roads; but, they were good single track roads and it was a very central location for trips to Glencoe, Oban and the peninsulas to the south. Elaine was a perfect host and took good care of us, we wanted for nothing while we stayed with her. We went back for a second stay, we liked the farm and accommodations so much the first time. We stayed several days here 1 1/2 years ago.... we chose to stay several more days on a second trip to the U.K.... it was an excellent place to explore Glencoe and south to the cost. It is only a few miles from Oban and Loch Awe (must see). The food was always perfect for breakfast and the owner was an excellent host. They have Highland Coos and sheep.... I always look for farmstays and remote locations to stay for a peaceful holiday, this checks that box and many more things desirable when wanting a quiet remote location to spend a holiday. I almost never book a location like a hotel in a crowded city... I am allergic to people having grown up on a farm in the woods. It is also quite close to the ferry to the Isle of Mull (may as well not go if you do not see Mull, Fingal's Cave and Staffa Island).

Friendly host , very comfortable and clean room with lovely views of the area. Picturesque setting. Excellent packed lunch as we left for our fishing trip before breakfast and couldn’t be more accommodating. I couldn’t recommend enough and will certainly be staying again on our next visit If I could give more than five stars I would

Lovely comfy en suite bedroom, a very quiet place surrounded by woodland and greenery, lots of birds and wildlife. Nice breakfast would certainly come back, only about 20 minutes from Oban by car.
