About Arbour Guest House

Arbour Guest House occupies a home built in 1880 on Dunollie Road in Oban, retaining a period character while offering straightforward, comfortable accommodation for visitors to Argyll and Bute. It's a modest, unfussy base rather than a grand hotel, with the feel of a traditional guesthouse.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of family rooms, along with drinks available in room and free WiFi throughout. Breakfast is included, and there's a garden with outdoor seating for warmer days, plus 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals. Facilities are simple rather than extensive, in keeping with the guesthouse style.

Oban itself lies under a mile away, and the surrounding area offers plenty for active guests, including golf, fishing, cycling, walking and watersports, along with horse riding nearby. Creach Bheinn adds a further point of interest for those keen to explore the landscape beyond the town. Pubs and restaurants nearby mean evening options are within easy reach.

Do not book this hotel. The owner is deceitful and took money from my account without my permission when I cancelled. I explained that the ferry had been cancelled and she did not mention that she was going to take the money from my account. Then on the phone made many excuses why she didnt mention that she was going to withdraw the money. Avoid... read the reviews on booking dot com.. Says is all

The worst experience I have ever had!! Stay away!! did not answer her telephone, finally sent a message that the key would be left on an envelope on the door. It wasn't there. I stood on the street with 2 small children at nightfall. I phoned, I messaged, knocked until other guests opened. No one inside, no one to speak to or reach. Had to find other accomodation. Apparently left on a door on a next building with a for sale sign on it and no signs that is belongs to the same guest house. Even a fence in between. Owner refused to give my money back.

Room was clean, and bed was comfy. Shared bathroom was clean, and I never had a clash to get in there. Pretty old doors so you need a big old key to lock your room inside or out otherwise the door wouldn't close properly. Rather thin walls so sound travels but wasn't too much of an annoyance with respectful guests. It's a busy town but its probably worth paying a little more to get the B&B extras over just a room.

Right in center close to car park which is free at weekends and after 6pm I think. Room was a bit basic but was clean and tidy we didn't use the shower etc but looked ok. Was a self service breakfast in the B&B next door cereal toast etc which I wasn't a fan of but wife and kids loved it and they were even kind enough to source some gluten-free bread for her. Was a pleasant stay and we would use them again
