It's a straightforward, well-equipped setup rather than anything fussy, with free WiFi throughout and 24 hour reception so arrival times are never a worry.
Breakfast is included, setting guests up for a day out, and there's a garden on site for some quiet time between excursions. The guesthouse sits on Dunollie Road in Oban, Argyll and Bute, within reach of a pub or bar, a restaurant, and other eateries nearby, so evenings don't need much planning.
Oban itself makes a sensible base for getting into the Scottish Highlands, and locally there's walking, fishing and a golf course to fill the daytime, plus entertainment nearby for something more relaxed. It's a no-frills stay that covers the essentials well.
What guests say
Friendly and welcoming, clean and tidy. Room was well presented, with tea and coffee facilities, also towels and toiletries. A complimentary continental breakfast was available each morning, however if you wanted a full cooked breakfast this could be ordered at extra cost. The room was made up on request and stock was replenished as needed. Location was easy walking distance to centre and main attractions. Wish they did a evening meal option or had a table set in room to be able to eat in. Would highly recommend and will return.

Great location (quiet) and there's a parking lot right beside that's paid, but overnight is free. The room was very spacious which was great. It wasn't the cleanest. There was some sand/grit in my bed, but just wiped it off. The one double bed was great and comfortable, the twin mattress felt very old with the springs and the centre really caved in, good pillows though. As far as a one night stay, it did the job. TV worked well, WiFi was strong, amenities in the bathroom are a nice touch. Can't speak to the breakfast as we hit the road early.

Returning Guest 2023 I stayed in a double room this time was a single. Plenty of space to move around. And helpful hosts. The room was clean. Mattress was to firm for me and would prefer to have atleast one thicker pillow than slim.

Worst stay I’ve ever had at Scotland B&B. Was overwhelmed by a STRONG CHEMICAL SCENT coming from the bed linens likely from detergent, softener, or some synthetic fragrance spray. It was so intense it felt like someone had poured a whole bottle of stinky perfume onto the bed. Despite trying to air out the room and attempting to sleep for two hours, I eventually gave up at 2:30am and went to sleep in my car.. FOR THE HOST - strong synthetic fragrances aren't just unpleasant they can trigger headaches, nausea, and even disrupt hormone or reproductive health. That’s why many places around the world are now adopting Zero Scent Policies to protect guests from unnecessary exposure to harmful chemicals. FOR THE PROSPETIVE GUESTS - I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially those with chemical sensitivities or anyone simply wanting a restful night of sleep.
