About Heatherfield House

Step into an en-suite room at Heatherfield House and you'll find a smartly furnished space with drinks provided and, in some rooms, views out over the sea. It's the kind of detail that lifts a stay in this Victorian guesthouse above the ordinary, whether you're here for a night or a longer break in Argyll and Bute.

Breakfast is included each morning, and a packed lunch can be arranged for days out. Free WiFi runs throughout, reception is staffed around the clock, and there's a garden to sit in when the weather allows. Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.

Oban itself lies a short distance away, and the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, golf, fishing and watersports, along with pubs, restaurants and other places to eat close by. Creach Bheinn adds a further point of interest for those keen to explore beyond the town.

We stayed at Heatherfield House for two days and had a fantastic experience. The house itself is full of character and history, and its location is ideal—perfectly situated for exploring the town and nearby attractions. During our stay, we enjoyed a lovely walk up to McCaig’s Tower and also visited Dunollie Castle, both well worth the trip. Oban truly lives up to its reputation as the seafood capital of Scotland, and we had some excellent meals while we were there. Each morning, the breakfast at Heatherfield House was hearty and filling—more than enough to keep us going until dinner. Our room was spacious, warm, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view over the water towards Mull, which made the stay even more special. The ladies who run the house were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We also really appreciated that the house is dog-friendly—our dog had just as great a time as we did! We would definitely return in the future and highly recommend Heatherfield House to anyone visiting the area.

Really great place. Wonderful location that's peacefully, slightly removed from the busyness of downtown Oban but it's walkable within 5 minutes to the action. Great hostess was kind and welcoming. Food for breakfast was delicious. Room was very nice - clean and nicely decorated. Would love to come back anytime!

We had a nice stay at Heatherfield House. The room was spacious and the mattress was very comfy. The bath was a bit impractical, but it did fit quite well with the overall look. Our host was a bit more distanced than what we're used to, but still very friendly. The location is pretty good - close to the city centre, just up a steep hill.

Absolutely loved our short stay at Heatherfield house, communication was always great and personal including our welcome, the room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, the bed very comfortable, breakfast was simple but generous and set us up for our cycling adventure, excellent value for money and it's location is perfect for cafés and restaurants, no qualms about recommending it all but it was fully booked when we stayed
