What visitors say
This is a fascinating museum with an incredible collection of artifacts from around the world. The displays are quite unique, packed with detail, and easy to get lost in for hours. For me the atmosphere is a little old-fashioned, but I feel that it actually adds to the charm. Great place to visit if you enjoy anthropology, history, and unusual objects. Entry is free, though donations are appreciated. If you have a great time, it’s well worth giving what you can to help keep places like this open to everyone.

It's inside the museum of natural history and it's absolutely FREE i remark this since some people tought it was a temporary paid exhibition and were reluctant to enter, it has it's own gifr shop and i bought the official guide a really full colour great book for around 16/17£ wich is really worth it, it's one of the biggest collection i've ever seen and from outiside it doesn't look like it but trust me, its crammed ,it has three floors, surprisingly the last one was the armory with modern fire arm weapons, medieval swords, samurai armors... ,it tastes like and old school museum because the small written tags on the items and i like that, instead of being displayed by cultures it's displayed by sections: pottery, weapons, ivory items....it's a different approach and it may look confusing to some but this way you get to see upclose the different approaches of every civilization to the same issue like storing food surplus or war.

Amazing place. Going there was like going back in time. I was there as part of my research into African Musical Artefacts and I found some interesting objects that contributed to my research. Not the best place to take photos and some of the labels were poorly positioned which made reading them difficult but overall a very positive visit. My advice would be to pick one subject to explore because there's so much there you'd probably just end ip overwhelmed if you tried to look at everything. Also it's not open until midday on a Monday so check opening times before you visit.

Great museum for all ages. Definitly worth visiting. Entry is free and the staff are great. Wide variety of content but a highlight for us was the new dinosaur exhibition… especially the big T-Rex! Only note would to try and avoid peak times, school holidays etc.
