Old Parsonage Hotel

Came on a site visit to this quaint hotel full of character and maintains it's original features. It's in what I call the cosmopolitan area of Oxford. There can be loads of pedestrians walking along the road and it's on a busy high street. The colour palettes are soft and nice, some of the rooms are not that spacious but yet cosy enough for a good night rest. They have some lovely outdoor seating area and some rooms with patios at the back. There is also a pod at the back. It's next door to one of the church's in Oxford so the bell chimes every hour. The afternoon tea was tasty 😋 and they have one meeting room spaces that is ideal for boardroom style conversation sitting about 16 people. They have a bar area, and a fire log mini reception lounge. The staff are quite nice. The hotel layout itself is a maze, loads of stairs dotted around, no lifts though but only 2 floors. They have this cute library that has some really super comfy seating and mini outdoor space if you need a quiet zone. It has a 3-4 star vibe, costs a bit but if you know Oxford, then you know most things are costly here 😊 I would recommend 🤗

Excellent place to stay. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Good water pressure, good pillows, good AC (we visited in a very hot week!). To top it off, the staff was lovely. Easy walk to food and shops. Would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet part of Oxford close to the city center and attractions. The original building is from the 1600s and they maintained the charm and character but updated it in an elegant and thoughtful way. Rooms were small but very nicely decorated and furnished and the bathrooms were updated and very tasteful. Blenheim Palace drinking water in glass bottles was provided free in the rooms along with milk. A small fridge and coffee and tea were also provided. They have a very nice bright library with comfy couches where you can meet up with your traveling companions and some small historical displays in some of the hallways. There is a nice patio restaurant and and indoor dining area but we didn't eat there. We were able to get a reduced rate through an Expedia sale.

We stayed over a weekend. The room was nice, spotless. The service was good, polite though a bit awkward at times. They called ahead twice and ensured that a parking space would be reserved even for early arrivals (it was not), and we were told twice that our room would be made a priority for service to be available before 3pm for early check-in (it was not). We didn't care about either but why explicitly offer it then? The breakfast was adequate but not at the level of the facilities. Options are very simple. The ones we had lacked seasoning and were not comparable with places who offer breakfast at similar prices (£20 for a full English, served here with a stamp sized piece of black pudding and half a tomatoe, but a random handful of watercress). The small selection of pastries/baked goods from the buffet were quite dry (the muffins at least a day or two past their prime). We did not dine in the restaurant but we would've liked to sit for a drink at the bar in the evening, but the whole open area smells strongly of food (particularly the fish dishes) so we opted against. A shame because the setting is quite nice.
