About Mount Pleasant Hotel
London Road runs straight into the heart of Oxford, and Mount Pleasant Hotel sits along it with the Ashmolean Museum and the rest of the city centre within easy reach on foot. It's a modest, twelve-room hotel rather than a grand one, but the location works well for exploring the colleges and museums, and equally for anyone with business at the hospital nearby.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, room service and in-room drinks, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Some rooms and bathrooms are showing their age, so this suits guests after a straightforward base rather than a polished, modern finish. There's a restaurant on the ground floor serving Indian food, plus 24 hour reception, free WiFi and luggage storage, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.
Free parking is available at the rear of the hotel, reached through the arch to the right of the building, which makes arriving by car straightforward in a city not known for easy parking. A pub, bar and further restaurants are all nearby, along with a golf course and other entertainment options for those wanting to venture beyond the immediate centre.

We booked a one-night stay at your hotel through Booking.com for the night of October 11–12, 2025. We checked in, but later that evening, we discovered a large number of bedbugs in our bed. They had even spread to our clothes. We immediately called the hotel and asked to be moved to another room, but we were told there were no available rooms. The staff apologized and said they were very sorry and would refund the payment. Without staying the night, we immediately checked out of the hotel. We then contacted Booking.com to request the refund, but even though the hotel had promised in writing to refund our payment, Booking.com informed us that the property had refused the refund. The hotel is not only very old and dirty, but the room was full of bedbugs. We trusted the hotel’s word and left immediately without insisting on a refund at that moment, but it seems they did not keep their promise, which shows they are not honest either. Honestly, this place doesn’t even deserve one star, let alone three. Now, they don’t answer our calls or reply to our messages, and we are unable to reach them in any way. I will file complaints with all the relevant legal authorities until I receive my refund. I Will add all the photos And Videos of the bedbugs.

This is a small inn on the edge of an adorable town with adequate amenities. Important: the rooms are on the second floor and this is an old building, so there is no elevator. My room was spacious, well-arranged, and comfortable, with everything I needed: electric kettle and cups/glasses. The shower was awesome!

ever ever stay at this hotel! There are bedbugs everywhere. Our whole bodies itched. We had to leave our room in the middle of the night, and there was no one at the hotel to contact. We called a phone number, and they told us they would refund our money, but they never did. This is a dishonest and fraudulent business — do not stay here under any circumstances.
