From the moment i dealt with the Team, the service was great. We were looking to have our works Christmas Lunch, for about 8 people - but over time this rose to 10 and 1 child. Emails back and forth increasing numbers were met with nothing but help and advice. We were given a number of menus to chose and emailed back and forth with questions about options and timings, again polite and helpful responses. Then the big day came and we turned up at 1pm, with plenty of car parking spaces for the 3 cars that were used. We piled in to a huge laid out table, with plenty of space along with a last minute high chair addition (that i failed to ask for). Now, the food - what can i say about it - it was great we had a variety of starters - but the Baked Camembert was lovely, with Cranberry, Onion Relish and lovely warm bread - others had chilli prawns and salmon mousse - no-one complained. The mains were a mixture of steak, the salt beef my wife had was excellent as well as the obligatory roast Turkey. Even the cod and chips was huge. For Desert a couple of cheesecakes, Xmas Pudding and a cheese sharing platter went down well. We had a selection of lagers, wines and soft drinks and to finish off we had coffees. All in all, a great 3 hours or so - and will we back, well my wife and i certainly will be some time in 2026. Thanks for a memorable Friday night lunch and sorry about the washing up. The staff were excellent, the location was great, the service was top notch and of course - the food was superb. Michael (and the Control Developments Team).

After having more than one lovely meal at the Talbot, we chose it as our venue for my mother's wake last week, and I am so glad we did. Thank you so much to The Talbot for making our day so special. The food was fabulous (we had many compliments from our guests about this), and the service was excellent. They provided the music as requested which added to the atmosphere of the day. My sister who stayed overnight said the bed was fabulous, and the breakfast was really good too. We had the most wonderful afternoon celebrating our Mother's life, gathering with our family and friends, and we came away on a real high from the day. We are so grateful to the wonderful team. Thank you, Kathy

This is one of those slightly out of the way places that are complete gems. We stayed overnight and everything about the Talbot was A class. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was amazing - possibly the best pate I have had and the scrambled eggs with salmon at breakfast was a real treat. The room was a lovely size, clean, comfortable and welcoming. It's not a place we could return to regularly but if we are ever in the area again it is top of our list.

Some reviews mention the drinks can be overpriced.
