About Barony Castle Hotel
Barony Castle Hotel sits in 25 acres of woodland and glen at Eddleston, around ten minutes' drive north of Peebles, its 16th-century core extended into an 82-bedroom hotel with rooms ranging from singles to family suites. Every room is said to differ in outlook, taking in either the gardens, woodland or hills.
The 1536 Restaurant serves a Rosette-recognised seasonal menu under head chef David Fulton, sourced from sustainable local producers, while the Blue Dug Bar offers cocktails and a whisky selection in the evenings. A leisure spa with a 10-metre pool, whirlpool bath, sauna and Technogym-equipped gym rounds out the facilities.
The estate is also a well-used wedding and events venue, and the grounds include the Great Polish Map of Scotland, a large concrete terrain model built by a Polish exile in the 1970s. It suits guests who want a full-service hotel with spa and pool set in open countryside, with Peebles itself a short drive away rather than on the doorstep.

What guests say
My mum and I stayed here for two nights in June. The staff were wonderful a big shout out to James and Louise who got us moved to the first level for my mum. So accommodating. The rooms are lovely and comfy beds. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and breakfast was a great start to a full day.

Very nice hotel. Wee bit tatty round the edges and unfortunately lift was out of order but room was lovely and comfortable, food was good and the staff were all extremely helpful. There's a nice pool with whirlpool bath and the Polish Map in the grounds is fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return. Special mention to Bethany in reception who was amazing at check-in and throughout my stay.

Our original room was very small and with a sloping roof so it was likely that you would bang your head. There was also a wedding party on until 1am directly underneath so was very noisy. We moved to a suite but had to pay. Our new room aas an absolute delight. Quiet and with lots of space. Nice shower with adjustable head. Loved it! A big thank you to Joanne for her outstanding efforts to help. She is charming. The breakfast was average. Not much choice and a bit basic. The great attraction at Barony court are rhe wonderful grounds and of course the Polhsh Scottish map

Lovely comfortable hotel with a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. There were also a few well behaved dogs which added to the relaxed mood. Make time to have a wee walk in the grounds and see the map of Scotland.
