Barley village sits within the Forest of Bowland, surrounded by walking routes up Pendle Hill itself, the Pendle Witch Way footpath, and gentler circuits around Ogden reservoir. Two country pubs are on your doorstep, along with a café and picnic area. The nearby sculpture trail showcases work by local artists across the landscape. Gisburn Forest, a few miles away, has dedicated cycling and walking paths plus fishing. If you want a market town, Clitheroe—8 miles south—has independent shops, a cinema, and Holmes Mill with its notably long bar.
Swaledale Cottage is a detached one-bedroom property on the edge of the village. Downstairs, the open-plan living and dining space has a Smart TV and connects to a kitchen fitted with an induction hob, electric cooker, dishwasher and breakfast bar. Upstairs, the bedroom holds a double bed (4ft 6in) and there's an ensuite with a walk-in shower. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all covered. You have parking for one car on site. The property is non-smoking.
The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks, as well as the Fylde Coast, are all within an hour's drive if you want to venture further afield.
