Orchard Hideaways

The rooms are really great for the buck after all it's a pod so I didn't expect much, it was really fun, WiFi is just good enough and please fix the vending machine cause it was literally empty it would be easier for us to get some quick snacks and other than everything else was good, it was clean, well maintained, don't know we may come back here for another time

Great Location just outside of Penrith. Andy was great at running the site and couldn't have done enough to make the weekend a success, all you had to do was ask. Rooms as seen which provide exactly what was needed. However the real gem is all the amenities, break out areas and surprises!

Below is my email complaint sent to Orchard Hideaways - I have had no response after 4 days. This is not a 'family friendly' site, it's a 'party' site operated remotely by a company (AMJ Getaways LTD) who are nowhere to be seen if you have any issues. I am writing about my stay at Orchard Hideaways this past weekend (2 nights: XXXX July). There was disturbance from a large group until 4am on Saturday morning. I tried dealing with this group myself by asking them to turn off their music. I did not phone the out-of-hours number at the time. I phoned at 0830 on Saturday (I couldn’t get through on the out-of-hours number, so called the main number and it re-directed to a mobile answerphone). An hour later XXXX (?) phoned me back. He was very apologetic. He phoned me again later that morning to say he’d spoken to the group and told them that they would be removed from the site if there was noise after 11pm on Saturday night. We also received an automated text message acknowledging the disturbance on Friday night and emphasising the explicit site rules regarding noise. On Saturday night the same large group had gathered on the picnic tables, making lots of noise. I tried phoning the out-of-hours number (XXXXXXXXXX) at 11.30pm but it was not answered. I then sent a text message to the same number. It was delivered but I did not receive a reply. The group were arranging taxis to go into Penrith but were still on site at midnight making lots of noise. I was with my 14-year-old son who wasn’t feeling well, so I decided that we could not stay. I didn’t want him to be woken up again in the middle of the night by this group returning from Penrith. With no staff on site and no means of contacting anyone, we left at midnight and drove home to XXXXXXX. It was incredibly disappointing and frustrating not to be able to get in touch with anyone from Orchard Hideaways and to have had my text message ignored. Given the knowledge that there had been disturbance on Friday night from this group, it would have been responsible to have been on ‘alert’. Instead, I have come away with the impression that you don’t care. Why say you are ‘family friendly’? Your T&Cs are very clear regarding noise after 11pm and the consequences of breaching these rules, yet you have completely ignored them in this instance. I would welcome a phone call to discuss the above.

We booked the rooms here for our hiking trip and we only were here to have somewhere to sleep and have meals. For that purpose, it's great. The shower rooms would get flooded and it's motion sensitive light so while I was showering, the light turned off and I freaked out thinking the light went out but thankfully not. A couple had a domestic and the police were called, it was crazy. Anyway, the rooms themselves were fine, most bunk beds or single beds. There were enough plugs to charge things. Didn't use the TV. The apple trees were amazing, like wake up for breakfast and pick some apples off to eat for free. We also got to do a BBQ and there was an Alexa (voice assistant) so we could play music. We hiked up Helvellyn in Lake District, so I would recommend the place for hikers to rest at.
