Bumblebee Nook

Westmorland and Furness

View on Google Maps

An 18th-century terraced cottage, Bumblebee Nook has been restored to combine period character with modern comfort. The building sits at the end of a quiet lane yet remains accessible from the M6, and it sits on a bus route for those who prefer not to drive. Three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize, a double, and two singles. The single bathroom has a roll-top bath and shower cubicle. Downstairs, the living room centres on a woodburner (logs included), with a separate dining room and a kitchen equipped for cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included.

The cottage faces south-east, with sunshine across the front for most of the day. An enclosed garden at the back has a patio accessed by nine steps, looking out over fields towards the Pennines. Parking for two cars is on site. The location suits groups or families planning to explore the Northern Lakes and fells—Ullswater is under ten minutes away by car, and Penrith five. A pub is within a mile. The cottage is non-smoking throughout. Children's equipment (travel cot and highchair) can be arranged.
