Couples and families of up to four will find Black Spout Cottage a practical base for exploring the Perthshire hills. The two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with a double and single—sit on a single level, as does the living space, making it straightforward to settle in. Ground-floor living includes a sitting room with a woodburner, a kitchen with electric cooking and a dishwasher, and a sun room; there's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Essentials like heating, power, bed linen and towels are included, along with wifi and initial fuel for the fire. One dog can stay for an additional charge.
The cottage sits in a secluded spot yet remains only a short drive from Pitlochry's restaurants, attractions and year-round events. More immediately, you're on the threshold of serious walking country: the Black Spout Waterfall trail begins almost at the gate, part of a network that connects woodland paths through Moulin and up towards Ben Vrackie. The enclosed garden has a private hot tub, patio and decking where views stretch towards Edradour and the surrounding highlands. There's parking for two cars on site, and a bike store if you want to explore further afield. Note that five steps lead into the garden itself.
