Atholl Palace Hotel

This hotel, the grounds, and the staff were all amazing. The hotel was impressive in appearance and added a charming touch to my retreat. The spa was great, the little museum was cute, there was so much to discover on the grounds, and the location was super close to town. The window in our room did not open and it was stuffy, but the front desk staff gave us a second fan upon request. The shuttle van was out of commission, but a manager's car was made available to pick up my group from the train station. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent (though keep in mind that the UK is not big on seasonings). Our afternoon tea was phenomenal. One guest in my group was gluten-free so the staff brought her all the same sandwiches on gluten-free bread. They always had an option for her! And I was impressed by the mocktail options as well. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and I'd recommend it highly.

Hotel rooms were beautifully decorated and the common areas especially the main dinning area feels like you are dinning in an garden glass house with a beautiful view of their grounds that are spectacular looking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was out of the way from the town as they have very large grounds. They compensate for this by providing a shuttle into town at no charge. The staff that drives you in.and out were very helpful as I needed extra help getting in and out. I would definitely stay again as we were treated like royalty. Thanks again for looking after us so well.

Arrived to find our room was a double and not a twin as requested, they fixed this right away and left a bottle of wine in our room for the inconvenience. Lovely gardens, several activities available, staff very friendly, games in the lobby with comfortable seating and warm welcoming surroundings. Spa and pool area was pristine, but towels very thin. Food at the Stag bar was not very good. Some staff did not look like they were happy at work! Breakfast in the dining room was a different story, pleasant staff, good breakfast and large airy and elegant room. Rooms were large, comfortable bed, but limited electrical outlets. Overall I would come back again for a longer stay.

The elegance and charm of this hotel lies in its traditional decor and quiet atmosphere. We were in one of the lower level garden rooms, which accomodated our family of four with two bathrooms and high ceilings. The breakfast was excellent, as were the sauna/pool, in-house museum, and lounge. Location wise, it is in between the popular whiskey distilery and the busy downtown shopping area; both of which are in walking distance. We had a marvelous time and would stay again when in the region.
