Perth and Kinross offers plenty of countryside appeal, and Glen Hideaway puts you deep into it. This detached log cabin sits on a secluded 3-acre plot near Kirkmichael, surrounded by mixed woodland and accessible by a rough track that can be snowy in winter. The owners are nearby if you need help in poor conditions.

The entire ground-floor property is yours alone. Two bedrooms sleep four: a super king with an ensuite shower, and a bunk bed room. There is a second full bathroom with bath and shower. The open-plan living space has a 49-inch TV, and a kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and all the basics for proper cooking. A wood burner warms things on cold days, and outside there is a hot tub for five, decking with garden furniture, and a barbecue. One dog can stay free. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included.

Red squirrels, roe deer and woodland birds are regulars here. The grounds open onto walks through the trees onto open moorland; the Cateran Trail, a 100-mile circular route through the Angus Glens and Perthshire, is accessible from the property. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
