Kirkmichael sits at a crossroads for exploring the Highlands. The village's network of walking paths offers everything from gentle riverside routes to moorland trails, while Cairngorm National Park lies within reach for more ambitious days out. Mountain biking, golf, wild swimming and winter sports all happen nearby, and over thirty Munros are within an hour's drive. From here you can also day-trip to the Trossachs, Loch Ness, Royal Deeside or Edinburgh.
MacDonald Cottage occupies the ground floor of a converted Victorian bakery on the main street. The open-plan living space has a television and comfortable seating, a dining area and a kitchen where you can prepare meals. Two bedrooms—one double, one single—and a bathroom with shower complete the layout. Everything sits on one level with level access throughout. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all provided, and there is private parking for one car.
The village shop, tearoom and pub are a two-minute walk away. One dog can stay free; you'll find feeding bowls and poop bags in the cottage, though your dog should not be left alone. The property does not permit smoking.
