Smiddy Cottage

Families and groups of six will find Smiddy Cottage a self-contained base in the village of Weem, surrounded by Perthshire countryside. The cottage has three bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed and shower room on the ground floor, two more upstairs (one kingsize, one with singles)—plus a second bathroom with a bath. A woodburner warms the living and dining space, which opens to the enclosed garden through patio doors.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric cooking, dishwasher, combi microwave and washing machine. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, along with initial logs for the fire. An enclosed walled garden with seating and a private parking space come as standard; there is also public parking 20 yards away. The cottage does not permit smoking.

The location suits those wanting to explore on foot—walking trails start from the doorstep, the River Tay is nearby, and Weem Wood lies close by. The wider region offers hill walking, mountain biking and climbing, with seven munros within 20 miles including Ben Lawers and Schiehallion. Historical sites and castles scattered across Highland Perthshire are within easy reach.
