About The Townhouse

Perth's mix of riverside streets and easy access to nearby Elcho Castle makes it a pleasant base for exploring Perth and Kinross, and The Townhouse on Marshall Place puts guests right in the middle of it. This is a guesthouse with a personal touch, run by hosts noted for their warmth and good humour, and it has built a reputation for genuine hospitality rather than anything corporate.

Rooms are individually decorated, kept spotlessly clean and come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks provided, with many guests finding a homemade scone and jam waiting on arrival. Breakfast is freshly prepared each morning and consistently singled out as a highlight. Facilities extend to a garden, luggage storage, laundry service, concierge assistance and 24 hour reception, along with free on-site parking for those arriving by car.

Beyond the house, guests are within easy reach of golf courses, pubs, bars and restaurants, as well as entertainment nearby, making it a straightforward base whether the day is spent visiting Elcho Castle or exploring Perth itself. It is a small, characterful stay that has earned its loyal following through consistency rather than gimmicks.

DAVID GLOVER

I/we have stayed at The Townhouse 6 times and I’m never disappointed with this beautiful home from home. Charming decor, excellent breakfast and highly knowledgeable hosts. Even after a six hour drive, the welcome brightens the day and journey and David’s conversation is never less than entertaining. Being rated Scotland best B&B is well and truly earned.

Our first Scotland Stay was so special. ~ a bed & breakfast townhouse, with a welcoming, witty and caring host David. The room is so much fun and the bed is better than many hotels. The hearty breakfast cooked by the host David himself every morning made me cancelled other reserved brunches. Lots of love and care in the details ~ The rooster door blocker, the 🗝️ looking key, the house made jam, the not-the-average-B&B bed sheets, vintage furniture collection….. And the zen garden 🌷🪻🌼 Such a great impression starting our trip!

What a lovely place to stay. I loved the decor, our room had a bath and shower which were sparkling clean. David was very friendly and very witty. We found scones and home made jam and chocolate in the room when we arrived. The breakfast was fantastic. This most be one of the best places I have stayed in. The location is perfect for food and walking. Thank you David and partner for a fantastic stay. Super lovely place
