About Adhurst Yurts
Tucked into 500 acres of ancient woodland on a Victorian estate in the South Downs National Park, Adhurst Yurts delivers true seclusion just two miles from Petersfield. Deer, otters and kingfishers regularly pass through, and each yurt comes with its own safari kitchen, campfire circle and composting loo. Inside you'll find proper iron beds, while outdoor hot showers and baths keep things civilised. Logburners ward off evening chills, and three country pubs lie within walking distance along private footpaths threading through the estate.
Beyond relaxing by the fire, you can book outdoor skills sessions—basketry, bushcraft, dawn bird walks—or arrange river monitoring kits for young naturalists keen to examine local minibeasts. The site feels wonderfully remote, though some facilities reflect its low-key, off-grid approach. Tennis courts and wild swimming spots add seasonal appeal, making this a genuine wildlife haven for families and couples happy to trade conveniences for a deeper connection with the Hampshire countryside.

What visitors say
Thanks for a great stay at Adhurst Yurts. You’ve clearly thought of every little detail to make it a special experience. The yurts are beautifully designed, spacious, and very cosy. We were two families and booked Redwood & Birch which were close together. The beds were really comfortable, and the fluffy towels were a nice touch. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower and was impressed it was hot water! We also enjoyed exploring the beautiful woodland and stream right on the doorstep – it made for a perfect, relaxing walk. Everything was clean and so well looked after. Thanks again!

We had a great time staying in our spacious comfortable yurt with a lovely bath. It was clean and well equipped. So wonderful under the dappled canopy of the trees escaping the 30 degree heat outside! I think any other time it might have been better to have a sunny area to sit in as even with the heat outside it was a little chilly in the morning. The forest and river were a beautiful. Escape.

Three dads, six children and a Labrador. We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Adhurst Yurts. It’s set up exactly as you would expect from their website. We were warmly welcomed and then left in peaceful isolation. The children enjoyed a great time playing in the woods and once dirty they cleaned off in the River. We will definitely be back!

Home from an absolutely perfect weekend at Adhurst. From the point of booking right through to answering queries during our stay, the hosts were faultless; very welcoming and easy going. The yurt itself was as described, and the bed uber comfortable! (Side note, they went out of their way to ensure we didn’t have feather pillows because of allergies). We didn’t really use any of the kitchen equipment but there seemed to be plenty available - including a gas stove and hot running water. The yurt closest to ours wasn’t occupied all weekend so it felt like we really were alone in the woods. On our first evening as we relaxed around the fire bowl we really noticed the traffic noise but there’s nothing Adhurst can do about that and we soon filtered it out it anyway. Overall we enjoyed this weekend “off grid” far more than we expected to, 10/10 would recommend!
