One of the best museums I’ve ever been too. So interesting and full of original artefacts and well presented. The must see of Hastings and it’s free although please donate if you can, as good for people that can’t afford it. I was particularly interested by the ship wreck with the French musket guns which were presumably set to be sold to the confederates during the American civil war. How amazing is that?! Also the wood that is predicted to have been a tree during the lifetime of Jesus Christ. My mind was blown, in a good way. I will return as love the area that it’s in and need to check out the Hastings art gallery. Go see it you won’t be disappointed and it’s free. Thank you to all the staff and people who created it.

What a gem of a place this is! We came upon it by accident by we are so glad we did! It is free entry and the exhibits are fascinating! My boys loved going around and learning about ships, fossils, knots and maps. The highlight of our visit was the gentleman that showed us around many of the exhibits (I think his name is Tim). He was extremely knowledgeable and it was obvious he loves what he does! If you are looking for something fun and entertaining for the whole family when you visit Hastings, this is your place!

Dog friendly and actually a lot to see inside considering it’s a small museum! FREE entry! (Of course please donate if you’re able to as that helps them keep things running). A small gift shop at the entrance too. Plenty to see and some interactive bits for kids to do too.

A brilliant museum with incredible exhibitions with no entry fee and great souvenir shop. Also has information about guided tours to some shipwrecks in the English Channel for just £6 per adult, which sounds like a wonderful opportunity.
