What visitors say
It is lovely family run campsite in fantastic location. Friendly staff, very clean facilities, good on site shop and coffee shop (hot and cold drinks, fresh scones and pastries, breakfast granola bowls), different food vans every evening. Supermarkets are only 10 min drive away. Amazing beach 15 min walk away, unfortunately path from campsite directly to the beach was closed (when we booked our pitch the path was still opened), so you need to walk on side of village road to reach dunes and than walk to the beach. Also to keep in mind, that there is no "dog shower", which for dog friendly campsite is something that i think is essential to have. Also keep in mind that pitches that are directly facing playing field are very sloped, we found difficult to position our beds to get best possible sleeping angle. Also lots of kids were on playing field kicking ball till 10 pm, and those balls kept on flying and hitting cars and tents and other camping equipment, so was not very nice to be disturbed so often when you are trying to relaxand enjoy your holidays ( something to keep in mind when choosing the pitch). In overall staff and campers and facilities were nice, and we had amazing time surfing on a great beach.

A very warm welcome [even from the resident goats] on arrival and excellent level and sheltered electric pitch for our VW Camper with awning, pitch #57. Shower/toilet block was immaculate with very good hot showers. Lovely walks to the beaches - no direct access to the beaches however the walks either left or right from the main entrance are beautiful. The beaches when the tide is out are stunning but equally great to walk alongside the coastal path through the dune when the waves are breaking below. We visited the Red River Inn across the road from the site for a pint which was very busy but a great atmosphere. A highly recommended campsite and we will certainly be back. Jason & Beth

Absolutely loved our stay at Gwithian Farm Campsite — hands down the best campsite we’ve ever used. We originally booked for one night and ended up staying longer, which says it all. We’ll definitely be back. Everything about the place just works — all the facilities were spot on, clean, easy to use, no hassle at all. We did manage to mess up and drain the main battery on our campervan (classic), but two of the lads — I assume the owners’ sons — came straight over in their Transit. Proper sound surfer dudes, couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful, got us sorted and back up and running in no time. The location is unreal. Gwithian Beach is about a 5-minute walk away and the sunsets there are something else — lighthouse in the distance, seals not far up the coast if you walk a bit further. It’s one of those places you just stand there thinking “this is why I came”. The owner (I assume) was genuinely one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. Couldn’t have been more welcoming and clearly just wants everyone staying there to have a great time. She went above and beyond for us — let us keep the van there well past checkout while we were hiking the South West Coast Path and even said we could come back and use the showers later that day. That kind of attitude is rare. There’s also a little bonus with the Goat Shack run by one of the brothers’ partners — great coffee, seriously good banana bread and blueberry muffins. Worth a visit on its own. On a personal note, I injured my ankle while walking and the owner gave me advice on what to pick up from Boots to support it. It genuinely worked and probably made the difference in us completing our goal of walking from Padstow to Land’s End. This isn’t just a great campsite — it’s the best campsite in Cornwall and honestly might be the best anywhere. Would recommend it 1000%. We’ll be back next time we’re in Cornwall without a doubt.

Stopped here while walking the SWCP and enjoyed an warm welcome and excellent sheltered pit h for our two man tent. We were fortunate to be there while the Red River Inn was having it's annual Beer/Music festival and also took advantage of the excellent Asian restaurant next door. The following morning enjoyed a great value breakfast from the onsite coffee hut. Would highly recommend this site to any passing walkers.
