About Admiral MacBride

Crab sandwiches and a log fire set the tone at Admiral MacBride, a pub with rooms on Plymouth's historic Barbican. Downstairs is a proper bar with a good range of ales, reasonable prices and a welcoming, easy-going atmosphere. The food is simple and well-executed, with chips that are cooked properly, though the crab sandwich doesn't always land the same way for everyone.

Upstairs, rooms are en-suite with free WiFi, drinks available in the room, and some enjoy sea views over the harbour. Breakfast is included, and reception operates around the clock, so late arrivals aren't an issue. It's a straightforward, comfortable base rather than a luxury stay.

The Barbican setting puts guests within easy reach of Plymouth's historic quarter, with pubs, bars, restaurants and eateries close by, along with entertainment options. Golf and fishing can also be arranged nearby. Parking is worth noting: there's no dedicated space, but free on-street parking is available between 6pm and 8am.

Hey guys I just want to say thank you ! :-) I am so happy to have you close to my home :-) Last week when I was in the bar , your girls really looked after me! I was having a panic attack and I had never had a panic attack before., it had been a year since something traumatic happened to me and without realising I am still getting over some P.T.S.D. the staff here quite literally saved my life. I had water, I had tonic, ( i don't drink alcohol ) They have alcohol free options which are also great !!!

Stayed in room 3 for 2 nights. Room was clean but nothing else nice to say about it. Broken stool and bestie light. Tap would not turn off so treated to Chinese water torture all night. Would not recommend. Ridiculously small bathroom, had trouble even using the toilet!

Perfect location. 30secs from Mayflower Steps. Hotel room is spotless, bedding and towels pure white. Changed daily. Room clean. Furniture solid oak, no flat pack flimsy stuff! Great shower. Huge bathroom. Highly recommended.
