About The Kynance House

Citadel Road runs along Plymouth's western side, close to the Hoe and the waterfront, and it's here that The Kynance House occupies an early Victorian building with 26 rooms. The setting puts guests within easy reach of Devon's coast and countryside, as well as the city's historical sites, making it a practical base for exploring the area on foot or by car.

Rooms are kept simple and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, with family rooms available for those travelling in groups. Breakfast is served on-site, and there's a bar for evening drinks, plus room service if guests prefer to stay in. The hotel also has a gym, an indoor swimming pool and a spa with sauna, along with a garden, meeting rooms and laundry service. Parking is available with a valet, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those driving down.

Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, watersports, fishing and a golf course, alongside plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. It suits guests after a no-fuss stay rather than anything showy, with the emphasis on a well-placed roof over your head and solid basics.

Stayed here as an overnight stay and can't really fault the place at all. Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with lovely decor. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was spot on with an amazing mug of tea. Will definitely be staying here on future visits to Plymouth.

The most welcoming hotel we have stayed in, friendly, polite the man on reception was absolutely lovely and went beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The room was modern with everything you need and very clean. The food was lovely with a great Service. Can't wait to return and to bring the children.

We stayed in this hotel for the Bank Holiday weekend back in May. We were looking for a 🐶friendly place and this Hotel was just perfect. the room was very nice and tidy. Also the room was cleaned everyday. The bed was really comfy. Really friendly staff if you need anything just ask and they will provide. Breakfast was lovely everyday. We decided to order dinners after a long day and it was a great idea. Matt served the best lasagne I have ever had. Everyday something different and lovely big portions. (I put on weight because of the this😂) We managed to get a parking space for additional cost of £10 for a day. I will definitely come back to see this lovely and friendly people and I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Kerry, Jenny and Matt we will be back for sure. Thank you very much for everything!😊 Stay safe!😀

My wife and I spent 4nights with our little dachshund. The owners and staff were very pleasant. Our room was just great for us. We were so pleasantly surprised how nice our breakfast was, served in a takeaway container and eaten in our room. It was cooked fresh to our order placed the previous evening and collected at an agreed time. It was piping hot and as good a breakfast as you could possibly get. Would definitely return
