About Travelodge Poole
Travelers after a straightforward, affordable base for exploring Poole's harbour and beaches will find Travelodge Poole does the job without fuss. Set on Lifeboat Quay overlooking Holes Bay, it suits families, pet owners and anyone driving down, with free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point among the practical extras.
The hotel has 125 rooms across five floors, all en-suite, with accessible rooms and a lift available. Rooms are generally kept clean and comfortable, offering solid value for the price, though some can run warm as there's no air conditioning, so it's worth bearing that in mind during summer stays. A restaurant and bar on site serve food that guests tend to rate highly, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Drinks can also be ordered to your room, and reception operates around the clock.
Beyond the hotel, the quayside setting puts fishing, watersports, pubs and restaurants within easy reach, alongside entertainment options nearby. Pets are welcome throughout, making it a workable choice for those travelling with animals. It's a no-frills stay geared towards convenience rather than luxury, with the harbour and coastline as the main draw just outside the door.

Don't bother in summer!... Rooms can be far far too hot, especially on higher floors. My room was over 10'C above outside ambient, despite being in a heatwave. Trying to sleep at crazy temperatures with a window that barely opens is very typical and frankly feels illegal for a commercial property. It's hard writing this as the staff are all absolutely lovely, super friendly and happy to help every time I visit - in any other case I would love to say 5 stars for them alone. Unfortunately every summer stay for work is something I truly dread as sleep is something I leave at the door :(

Rooms were tiered, basic for the price and location: I anticipated a better standard. The kettle was in a horrible state, I'm aware of the hard waters but at least attempt to clean it or chuck a lime scale sachet in. I did ask for a replacement and was happily provided with one. Staff were friendly and helpful. However the receptionist in one occasion was speaking to a customer on loadspeaker and was being sarcastic to the customer, although warranted judging by the customer on the other end, I just thought it was a bit unprofessional.

Stayed here one night on way to north wales on a coach tour Staff were amazing food first class have stayed in a few Travelodge sites but this has been far the best but it’s now 23.33 Still trying to get to sleep (have to be up at 4.45 am to catch a coach.) But what with the extreme heat in the room and The Brain Dead Morons Racing around virtually impossible..shame but a lovely place and as I said; the staff a really wonderful..

The check in process was Bizarre even though we arrived 10 minutes before 3pm we were made to wait in the car until 3pm and along with others called to reception individually to check in. The receptionist was quite surly no smile, not rude just no warmth. I'm suspicious of all the recent 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor saying how fantastic and efficient all the staff are as that wasn't our experience nor the other guests that we spoke to. The chambermaid staff seemed. Stressed and unhappy with the amount of work they had to do and at 3pm the corridor on level 2 was littered with trays dirty laundry etc. on a positive note the room was clean and there was a fan in the room to help cool the room down.
