Crynant Countryside Retreat is a single-storey cottage built around an open-plan living space that groups the sitting area, dining zone and kitchen together. A wood burner anchors the living room; large windows face the garden. The bedroom contains a double bed and a bunk bed, sleeping four in total. There is one shower room. Everything is on the ground floor.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and American fridge freezer—alongside a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Heating comes from infrared panels and oil-filled heaters; initial fuel for the wood burner is provided. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. A welcome pack awaits arrival. One car can park on site. Smoking is not permitted inside.

The property overlooks a back garden with patio and furniture. It suits couples, small families or groups of friends wanting a base for exploring the Neath area and surrounding countryside. One well-behaved pet stays free.

A real home away from home, so peaceful, relaxing, and beautifully equipped with everything you could possibly need. My personal favourite was unwinding in the lounge with a glass of wine by the log burner – absolute bliss! There are plenty of lovely countryside walks nearby, perfect for the dog. We also took the opportunity to hike up Pen-y-Fan and enjoy the tranquility of the nearby waterfalls. A perfect getaway! Will most definitely be returning.

Great location within easy reach of some lovely local attractions. Well equipped kitchen and good shower, bed was a bit squishy for our liking, but that’s a personal preference. Definitely recommend exploring the waterfalls and the Afon Country park is fabulous especially the mining museum and walking trails . The dogs loved the garden, and the open plan layout was perfect.

We had a great stay here, the place was clean and tidy when we arrived, the guide that was sent to us was thorough with all the instructions with how to use things e.g. the log burner and the solar panel heating above the sofas. It also included lists of places to go that were nearby which was helpful. The bed was comfortable, however the bedroom door and bed were quite squeaky which isn’t ideal sharing a room with our son- but nonetheless this didn’t impact our stay. Tom was quick to respond to messages with questions. The property could do with a few more essentials, e.g washing up liquid and surface spray but otherwise we had everything we needed. The garden is very spacious and our dogs absolutely loved this area. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return! Thank you.
