The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains lie within driving distance, and Gower Peninsula—Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—is reachable for a day trip with its sandy beaches and coastal walks. Closer to hand, Afan Argoed Country Park is popular for cycling, while public footpaths cross the grounds themselves. Margam Park and Dan yr Ogof showcaves are also nearby. A shop and pub sit a mile away; restaurants are two miles off. For something different, Swansea's LC2 waterpark has pools and slides, plus the maritime museum, while Cardiff offers museums, shopping and live venues within an hour's drive.
Y Stabl is a converted barn on a working farm, set back from the main house with its own parking and garden complete with patio and barbecue. The ground floor holds an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space with a washer-dryer and full cooking facilities. Upstairs are two bedrooms—a double and a bunk room—sharing a bathroom with shower. The essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and wi-fi are included, and there's a travel cot and highchair available if needed. A natural stream runs through the grounds. The property does not allow smoking.
