This is a lovely place to stay, ideally positioned next to the mainline train station, very close to a large Tesco, and easy walking distance to the main street. I stayed for four nights and the room was absolutely lovely, renovated to high specification. The owner clearly communicated prior to my arrival that they were renovating the building, and for the price, I wasn't expecting much. Yes, the entrance hasn't been renovated yet, but that doesn't matter as you're not staying there, are you? I had everything I needed in my room with regards to kettle, cutlery and crockery, towel, toiletries and tea and coffee. The bed was super comfy, and although when I first got there I was concerned about the proximity to a fairly busy road (and trainline), the noise died down at a sensible time and I didn't notice it through the night or in the morning. The host was lovely and welcome making sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommend and would stay again. I advice booking directly as you save a bit of money

The outside of the house still needs some work to be done. But our room was newly furbished and very clean. We would definitely come again. Twin beds are very narrow tho

Had two rooms for a night as we were going on the steam train the next day. Rooms were large and the bathroom huge. Bed's were comfortable and the shower nice and hot. No lift here but we were on the first floor so not too difficult to get our cases up the stairs. Walking distance to restaurants and the main part of town. Parking free outside hotel. Train station is next door. It was nice and quiet.
