Porthmadog sits on the edge of Snowdonia with the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railway running through it, and the town centre is within walking distance of Perthi Bach. The harbour itself draws visitors year-round; there are independent shops, cafes and restaurants spread through the streets, plus supermarkets if you're self-catering. Black Rock Sands lies just beyond town—miles of flat sand and dunes that suit families and anyone after a proper beach day. Portmeirion, the Italian-style village, is a short drive away, and the coastal path from here leads to Borth Y Gest, a gentle mile-long walk to a smaller, quieter seaside village.
The cottage is a single-storey property sleeping two, with a double bedroom and ensuite shower room. The open-plan living space combines kitchen and sitting area, with a log burner, smart TV, gas cooking and all the essentials for preparing meals. French doors open onto an enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue. You'll have your own parking space and full privacy despite being on shared grounds. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included; pets stay free.
The wider region offers something beyond a seaside break. The Llŷn Peninsula stretches westward as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with coastal and mountain walks, wildlife including seals and dolphins, and villages like Pwllheli with their own beaches. Inland, Blaenau Ffestiniog hosts Zip World and Bounce Below if you're after activity-based days. Harlech and Criccieth castles, both UNESCO and Grade I listed respectively, sit further down the coast for history-focused visits. No smoking indoors.
