Portree is the natural base for exploring Skye, its harbour and colourful waterfront giving way to a compact centre of pubs, restaurants and shops, with the wider island's walking routes and watersports within easy reach. Taigh Duitseach sits on Viewfield Road, a short distance from the town centre, and makes a practical, comfortable stopping point for anyone touring the island.
Rooms are en-suite and some are set up as family rooms, with drinks provided and views out towards the surrounding hills. Breakfast is included, reception is staffed around the clock, and free WiFi and free on-site parking make arriving and settling in straightforward.
Beyond the front door, golf, pubs, bars, restaurants and entertainment are all close by, alongside walking areas that make the most of Skye's mountain scenery. It's a straightforward, well-placed base for a Skye stay rather than a destination in itself.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and were very happy with everything! The rooms were clean, tidy, spacious, and welcoming. The hosts were accommodating and lovely to chat with. We had a perfect Scottish breakfast each morning before our daily tours. Would absolutely recommend this stay during your visit to Skye!

We stayed in this lovely place to see the Isle of Skyee and the closeness to the city. We got one room with a private bathroom in a big house. Even if it in a house, it was quite and we had a lovely variety for breakfast which is hosted by Jim and Pauline. They are great hosts and would definitely recommend this place if you are coming to Isle of Skye or Portree.

We loved our stay here! Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. Our hosts were kind and breakfast was delicious. It was just a short walk into town and a reasonable drive to the hikes and activities we did. We hope to return!

The cleanest hotel I have ever been to!! It's spotless anywhere in the room, and they maintain everything very tidy and clean. The breakfast is great and again a very clean and tidy setup. One downside was they asked us to pay in cash, but I heard from the hotel when I made a reservation that they accept credit cards. However, our overall experience was good, so we didn't mind paying in cash. The manager said she could wait until the next morning and let us check in without any payments. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Portree.
