About Premier Inn Portsmouth North Harbour
Walk into a room at Premier Inn Portsmouth North Harbour and you get the reliable basics done well: an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, drinks in the room and free WiFi, spread across one of 64 rooms on two floors. Accessible rooms are available, and the whole set-up leans towards straightforward comfort rather than frills, which suits guests who want a dependable base rather than a design statement.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar on site, plus an adjacent pub-restaurant for an easy meal without venturing far, and breakfast is available to set you up for the day. Reception operates around the clock, and free on-site parking is included, with the option to register your vehicle at the desk. Air conditioning and in-room drinks add a bit of extra comfort for the price point.
The location works well for practical purposes, sitting close to Portsmouth's ferry connections and within reach of the city's shopping and historic attractions. Nearby options extend to golf, fishing and horse riding for those wanting to fill a day differently, along with a scatter of local pubs, restaurants and a pizza eatery. It's a straightforward, well-equipped choice for a night or two in Portsmouth.
What guests say
Stayed here for 1 night (Sunday night). Arrived to ample on site parking, small fee paid upon arrival in reception. Booking in was quick and efficient. Was given a ground floor room which was typical premiere inn - clean, bright and equipped with all the things you are likely to need for a comfortable stay. Evening meal in the beefeater was good, again pleasant surprise considering the reasonable cost. Overnight hotel and room were quiet so sleeping was no problem. Breakfast at the beefeater is the usual buffet and had a wide selection of food. We opted for cooked English breakfast but lots of other choices. So from arriving to leaving, the hotel provided exactly what we needed at a wallet friendly price. Will definitely use premiere inn hotels again.

It's never good to greeted by a bathroom that hasn't been cleaned properly. This was how I was introduced to my room, see the photo of the toilet bowl. Now, I don't want to denigrate the cleaners, they have a severe schedule and have to operate like machines to get the rooms cleaned in time. This is fully at Whitbread's door, they set the rates and they choose the contractor, it's fairly obvious that there just isn't quite enough time to clean the rooms "properly". Some will wonder why I didn't let the reception staff know, but I'll tell you why, they would simply move me to another room, and that would be that, nothing changes. A length review sometimes gets noticed. Rest of the room? Adequate. Rooms here have had a refresh in last couple of years, so not so tired and individual AC was present. The location is fairly crappy, but hey, I wasn't on holiday, but if I was, I'd be unhappy with the location. As always, hats to the staff, they remain Premier Inn's chief asset. Please pay your cleaners a bit more...

My son had been taken seriously ill and was having a late night, emergency operation. I do not live in the area and having spent hours and hours of waiting at the hospital, I needed a room for the night. There were no taxi’s available late at night from the hospital, so I walked 40 minutes to the Premier Inn. Rather list and in the dark. Becky on reception could see the moment I walked into reception I was a woman on the edge! I was crying, very tired and stressed. Becky could not have been kinder. She asked if I had eaten (which I hadn’t) and she quickly dashed into the back room and produced a huge packet of biscuits. She was very kind. My room was spotlessly clean, with endless tea/coffee. In the morning I saw Becky again and thanked her so much for helping me. Plus for the biscuits, which turned into a late supper and breakfast! Absolutely 10/10 customer service and a much needed comfy retreat for me to recharge, ready for my return to hospital.

Clean and warm. Nice welcome from a person, not a machine. Parking is reasonably priced and the restaurant next door is ok. Some of the room decor and fittings particularly the bathrooms are looking tired.
