About Travelodge Portsmouth
Travelodge Portsmouth is a substantial four-floor building on Kingston Crescent, built along practical, no-frills lines and offering 160 rooms, making it one of the bigger budget stays in the area. Its straightforward design suits travellers who want easy access rather than architectural flourish, with the M275 close by and the Continental Ferry Terminal and city centre within easy reach.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks facilities, and there are accessible rooms available, plus a lift serving all floors. Some rooms are better kept than others, and a handful of guests have found theirs noisy or a little tired, so it is worth bearing in mind if a quiet night is a priority. The hotel has a restaurant on site, free on-site parking at the rear with access through to reception, an electric vehicle charge point, and 24-hour reception. Pets are welcome, which is useful for those travelling with animals.
The location works well for onward travel, with fishing, watersports, pubs and bars, and entertainment all nearby, along with a pizza eatery for a casual meal. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the free parking and clean rooms are a recurring point in guests' favour, making it a functional base for a ferry crossing or a stop in Portsmouth.

What guests say
I stayed for two nights after returning from France on the ferry. Positives: - The receptionist was friendly and the check in took less than a minute. - It's only a 5 minute walk from the ferry port - The room was relatively clean, apart from feeling a bit tired. - There were USB charging sockets and a large desk Negatives: - I paid for WiFI and the internet was unusably slow on 2/3 days with less than 0.5 Mb/s upload speeds. - There was a strange smell in the corridor - The single beds use the "small single" size, so feel very narrow and there were no sheets provided - Poor water pressure in the shower and no hand soap Next time I would probably stay in a nicer hotel closer to the town centre.

24 degrees outside during the day, probably reached 35 degrees inside the room during the night. Complained at reception, just told put it in the feedback when you leave. I spent the first night trying to sleep in the car in their car park. Next night left at 4am,as we just couldn't take it any more. I'm fairly confident it wasn't just an unlucky room, as plenty of people were wedging their doors open through the night and the hallway was littered with disposable cups from reception.

I stay at this hotel because it is just so convenient for the ferry port. And, it has a good carparking area. It is literally, out of the carpark, across the roundabout and you are in the Port. The rooms are a good size and reasonably furnished. USB charging, tv, and tea/coffee-making facilities are all standard...a biscuit would have been nice... Tea's is too wet without one. The bed was good and the linen and towels were clean and lovely. There is also a pub and an eatery, on-site. However, this year, for the first time, I am a little disgruntled. Reception and check-in were perfect but when I got upto the 2nd floor, it smelt rank. On entering my room, despite the window being open, the smell of the whatever they are using in the rooms was awful. And the carpets had numerous stains. These carpets are generally super-tough and resilient, 'contract carpeting' and not too difficult to clean. There was a hum from outside, like a fan or something, which even after I closed the window, was still loud enough to keep me awake until gone 2am...and is still there now. And, in the morning, beer barrels were being delivered at 08.03...noisily. All very easy stuff to sort out from a management point of view..

Stayed overnight for a ferry crossing. Room was on the third floor and though it was quiet the shower was pathetic! Hardly no pressure and took ages to wash off the soap. There are a lot of smokers that smoke outside the building and the outside could do with a good litter pick. Room was clean but let down by shower!
