Rural Powys spreads out around Cwm Corn Barn in panoramic views across open countryside. The converted barn stands on the banks of the River Severn, four miles from Newtown, a historic market town where pubs, restaurants and shops cluster around its arts venues and theatres. Gregynog Hall's woodland walks and gardens lie close by, while Powis Castle and its National Trust grounds sit sixteen miles away. The area draws walkers to numerous footpaths, birdwatchers to the red kite feeding station at Rhayader, and golfers, riders and tennis players to facilities nearby.
The property sleeps nine across four bedrooms: a kingsize with ensuite shower on the ground floor, a double with in-room shower, and two rooms of single beds. Two bathrooms serve the rest of the house. Downstairs holds the living room, a kitchen with full cooking and dishwashing equipment, and a utility room with washer-dryer. You get the whole place to yourself, with wi-fi, parking on site, and bed linen and towels provided. One dog stays free, and the enclosed garden with patio furniture opens to the hot tub—a concrete focal point for evenings after a day's exploring. No smoking throughout.

We stayed here with extended family for a weekend in June 2024. It was great. The location is rural with stunning views and very private. The kids had fun running around and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The building was spacious and each room was good. Plenty of facilities. There are lots of sites within an hour and I'd really recommend Elan Valley. Wel done to our hosts.
