Kookaburra Cottage

Kookaburra Cottage is a two-bedroom house in Powys, sleeping four across bedrooms configured for flexibility: the main room has a zip-and-link bed that works as either a super-kingsize or two singles on request, while the second is a standard double. There's one bathroom with a bath and shower over. Downstairs, a combined living and dining space has a Smart TV for quieter evenings, and the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine all present. An enclosed back garden with seating and a table means you can eat outside or simply sit with a drink. Parking for one car is on site.

The cottage stands in Brecon itself, so the town centre with its independent shops, cafés and cathedral is within walking distance. The Brecon Beacons National Park spreads across the wider area, bringing serious hiking (Pen y Fan is the highest peak in southern Britain), gentler canal-side walks, waterfalls and star-gazing. Local pubs serve Welsh food, there are farm shops and markets to browse, and nearby Hay-on-Wye is known for its second-hand bookshops. Canoeing, horse riding, caving and gorge walking are available through activity centres; the Brecon Mountain Railway offers a different pace.
