Meg’s Rest

Powys

Three miles north of Newtown, the hamlet of Bettws Cedewen sits in a sheltered valley where the countryside rolls across 155 acres of farmland. Meg's Rest occupies this quiet landscape as a converted barn, newly finished with restored beams, stone flooring and underfloor heating throughout. The whole property is yours alone—a single bedroom, one bathroom, and open-plan living space on the ground floor, suitable for two people only.

Inside, there's a kingsize bed with smart TV, a modern shower room with double cubicle, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and all the usual appliances. The dining and living areas flow together around an oak table, with patio doors opening onto lawned grounds and a sitting area. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. Parking for two cars is on site. What sets it apart is the wood-fired hot tub in the garden—yours for the duration of your stay, and positioned for evening stargazing.

The owners work the farm and are happy to show you around if you'd like to meet the animals, or you can strike out on foot along the nearby Bechan Brook. The setting suits couples seeking solitude and a slower pace. Smoking is not permitted. Arrival is after 3pm, departure before 10am.
