Powys holds scattered pockets of deep Welsh history, and this converted barn sits among them. The Old Cider Mill dates to 1402, built during the period when Owain Glyndwr held the title Prince of Wales. It stands on the owner's land opposite one of the oldest houses in Wales, originally constructed as a hunting lodge for Henry IV. The barn itself retains original features from that era, though the interior has been fully renovated to modern comfort.
The property is a single bedroom, one bathroom space—a double bed upstairs in the sleeping quarters, with a roll-top bath in the ensuite. Downstairs, an open-plan kitchen and dining room flows into a sitting area warmed by a woodburner. The kitchen is fitted with an electric hob, Rayburn, microwave, air fryer and washing machine. WiFi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the woodburner are provided initially, then available at £5 per basket. There is private parking for two cars on site, and a courtyard with garden furniture overlooks wildlife ponds. The barn is accessed via a rough track.
One dog stays free. Walking straight from the property takes you into open countryside; the nearest shop, pub and restaurant are 2½ miles away. Non-smokers only.
