About Delta Hotels Preston by Marriott
Delta Hotels Preston by Marriott starts the day well, with a varied breakfast buffet regularly singled out by guests as one of its strongest features. There's a restaurant and bar on site too, along with a snack bar, room service and kids' meals, so options extend well beyond breakfast, and packed lunches can be arranged for those heading out for the day.
The 149 rooms are clean and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and family rooms available for those travelling together. Facilities stretch to an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa with sauna, all popular with guests, plus meeting rooms and business services for those visiting Preston on work. Free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point are useful extras, and there's a garden and outdoor seating area too. Service is generally friendly and professional, though it can be slower at busier times.
Set on Garstang Road, the hotel is well placed for exploring Preston, Garstang and the wider Lancashire area, with a pub, restaurants and entertainment nearby, and a golf course within easy reach for those wanting to fit in a round.
What guests say
I booked a last-minute solo break for my birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay! A huge thank you to Cameron and the restaurant team for making my birthday so special. Cameron truly went above and beyond to make sure both myself and my little dog were looked after. He arranged for a member of the spa team to look after my pup while I enjoyed my treatment because he wanted me to be able to relax and enjoy my day. The team also prepared a beautiful birthday table with a complimentary bottle of wine. Cameron’s kindness, thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile turned my birthday into a very special day I won’t forget. I’d also like to thank Evie and Debbie in the spa, who were both absolutely wonderful, along with the lovely lady who looked after my pup. The team were so welcoming, accommodating and fantastic at what they do. I left feeling completely relaxed. Missy was welcomed just as warmly as I was. She was fussed over by so many members of staff and even other guests, which made her little holiday just as special as mine. It was so lovely to stay somewhere that genuinely welcomes dogs and includes them as part of the stay. The food was beautiful, and every member of staff I met was friendly, professional and so warm towards us. I’m disappointed I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye and thank everyone in person before I left, but I hope this review shows just how much your efforts were noticed and appreciated. Thank you all for making my getaway so memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back! 😊

From arrival to checking out, our 2 night stay was flawless. All staff from reception to dining to housekeeping were smart, polite and welcoming. Our room was perfect, bed comfortable, and bathroom spotless. Even our 2 chihuahuas had a dog bed and bowls waiting for them. Dining experience was fantastic whether it was breakfast buffet or evening meal choices were plenty and food was great. More than enough parking onsite but you need to log your vehicle registration number on arrival at reception. All in all a great stay and all the staff a credit to your organisation.

The room, building and grounds are all very pleasant. As are the very welcoming and polite staff. The gym is adequate, definitely more than the bare minimum. But, not much more. The surprisingly negative aspect is the bar/restaurant area. They appear to have a well appointed restaurant but, for some reason, this was not open/available for use, instead guests had to dine in 'the bar'. This is not a horrible or unusual proposition, but every aspect of this area is wrong, from the acoustics (you are genuinely exposed to a, somehow, amplified version of every conversation occurring in that moment, making your own conversation almost impossible), to the furniture (whilst the sofas are ok, half the furniture would not look out of place in a canteen or a greasy spoon with aspirations - wholly unsuitable for this space - a triumph of function over form), through to the, what can only be described as, 'blunt' conservatory area along one side with no shade, finishings, or furnishings. Perhaps all this leads to, the final observation: a complete lack of ambience or atmosphere. 'Bleak' is the only word that comes to mind, after, perhaps, discarding 'desolate' or 'uninspiring'. I ordered the Flat Iron Chicken from the menu which informed me it came with a chimichurri marinade and 'French fries', what it did not spell out, or even imply (given the total absence of any selectable side options), was that what would be delivered to my table was simply a piece of chicken (albeit in the promised marinade) and fries. And half a grilled tomato. Things, somehow, turned more bleak at this ppint. To be fair, the fries were excellent and the chicken was quite good, but the two (sorry, three) ingredients looked lost on the plate and it could never be described as satisfying.

Great value hotel for what it was. We booked on short notice and were only there for the night, but enjoyed the nice grounds for walking our dog around and the fitness centre with the pool in the morning. Dog friendly rooms for a reasonable fee (£30). Breakfast was decent Lots of included parking available.
