About Samlesbury Hotel
Samlesbury Hotel suits anyone travelling to Preston for work rather than sightseeing, with meetings, conferences or an overnight stop off the motorway network in mind. It's a large hotel with 80 rooms, kept simple and modern rather than fussy, each with an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and room service on request. Accessible rooms are available, and there's a bridal suite for those visiting for a different kind of occasion altogether.
Six meeting rooms make this a practical choice for business groups, backed up by concierge and general business services, while the on-site bar-restaurant covers breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals without needing to leave the building. There's also a gym, a garden, luggage storage and free on-site parking, and pets are welcome for those travelling with animals in tow.
The hotel also does duty as a wedding venue, and its position on Preston New Road puts guests within reach of Blackburn Cathedral, with Leyland a short drive away. A golf course, pubs, bars and restaurants nearby round out the options for guests who do want to venture beyond the meeting room.

Stayed here with a relative, booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Some staff members were polite but the lady who received us when we arrived may have been quite burnt out / not interested in her job and was missing any basic manners - it's never a good look if your staff are incapable of being at least as polite as your guests. It was difficult to tolerate how the key cards used to enter the 2 rooms could fail for a total of 5 times over the duration of an overnight stay. Every time it failed guests are expected to return to the reception to get it reset, eventually this felt like some bizarre walking exercise that the hotel like to impose on guests. It also comes across as an on-going issue as staff seems to have gotten used to it. Room was generally clean-ish. Sheets were clean, no stains, but the shower heads had obvious build-up of scales and do not appear to have been cleaned in a long time. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Soundproofing is poor, conversations and noise from the TV (even in low volume) from next door only gets slightly dulled, so if you have to stay here, consider bringing ear plugs. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Will fill your stomach. There's on-site parking for free, but as the hotel would warn you, spaces are limited.

On trip and didn’t want to eat at a services on the m6 so pulled off and got to the hotel for some food. Monday night and empty about five people. Staff were friendly food was actually quite tasty for chicken and chips. Nice decor.

This hotel surprised me, much better than I expected. My room was spacious and had good quality fixtures and fittings. The bed and bedding were comfortable so I had a good nights sleep. Buffet full English breakfast was also of a high standard with good coffee.
