We went for dinner tonight and it was fantastic from start to finish. We started with two Sylvia cocktails, which were absolutely delicious. For food, we tried the egg hoppers, pattis, kottu, and lamprais. Every single dish was mouth-watering. This is honestly the best meal we’ve had since moving to London. We’ve tried many South Asian restaurants here, but Colombo Kitchen is something different — you really have to try it for yourself. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere and vibe were fantastic too. Highly recommend! (Niran and Michelle)

We went here for Saturday lunch. The restaurant had just opened and was empty. I was skeptical at first but when the food came, it was hands down the best Sri Lankan food I have had in a very very long time. In fact, I would dare say that this is the best food I have had in London- better than Tamil Prince, Tamil Crown and even Dishoom. The drinks could use a little more work in terms of consistency and so could the ambience. Buy new tables or get it repainted! Food wise I really can’t recommend this place enough. I hope they open more restaurants in East London soon! I’ll be a regular for sure.

Food, service, and atmosphere – all 5 stars. We celebrated my 40th birthday on 14th Feb 2026 and had pre-ordered food for our group. Everything was excellent, especially the BBQ pineapple with ice cream – such a unique treat. The hoppers were amazing, the best lamprais, and the king prawn curry with fresh crab fried rice was outstanding. They even made it gluten-free (no onion or garlic) and it was still full of flavour. The team, including Kansihker, went out of their way to make the evening special. The cute table arrangements and a surprise chocolate biscuit pudding cake on the house were such thoughtful touches. We stayed nearly 5 hours as a group of 10, and they were incredibly patient and accommodating throughout. Convenient parking in the shopping mall (many other places only allow 2 hours paid parking). A fantastic place for great food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere. Interior deco was lovely and very spacious. Hope they open a branch in Croydon soon. Thank you for making my birthday so special 🎉🎂🙌

Literally the best Sri Lankan food I’ve had in London - brought back childhood memories of one of my best mate’s mum cooking. We had a cocktail each, followed by the mixed starters plate (absolutely fabulous esp the vadai, fish cutlet & mutton spring roll), then we had both the plain & egg hopper followed by rice with mutton curry & blackened fish (I believe this was grilled mackerel) - wow, fabulous cooking! We also had the palm sugar cheese cake, which was so lovely (not too sweet & was just perfect). We got the privilege to meet Chef Sylvia who was so humble & lovely. Our waiter Kesh was perfect & super helpful & friendly. We loved everything here & would definitely return with friends !
