What diners say
Beef mandu was filled to the brim and delicious. Jjambbong was good too, though I think the seafood (especially calamari) and noodles didn't really suck in the taste of the soup.

I visited Sodaeng in Putney, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable Korean dining experiences I’ve had in London. From the moment I walked in, the warm atmosphere and attentive staff set the tone for an excellent meal. The service was genuinely impressive, friendly, efficient, and always ready to explain dishes or offer suggestions without being intrusive. What stood out the most was the incredible quality of the ingredients, especially the mushrooms and meat. The assorted mushroom platter was astonishingly flavorful; each variety had its own distinct aroma and texture, and when grilled, they released a deep, earthy richness that paired perfectly with the house dips. It’s rare for mushrooms to shine as much as the meat at a BBQ spot, but Sodaeng really knows how to elevate them. The meat selection was equally remarkable. Every cut was tender, juicy, and clearly high-grade. The marinades were balanced, not overly sweet, and allowed the natural flavor of the meat to remain the star. Grilling it right at the table made the whole experience interactive and enjoyable. The hotpot was another highlight. The broth was rich, comforting, and full of depth, absorbing the flavors of the vegetables, mushrooms, and thinly sliced beef beautifully. It complemented the BBQ perfectly, adding variety to the meal. Overall, Sodaeng Putney delivers a truly delightful and authentic Korean BBQ experience, with exceptional flavors, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone craving quality Korean food.

First time trying tangsuyuk. It has a very sweet taste. If you like cantonese sweet and sour, this might not be the best choice. They taste completely different. The batter of fried pork was a bit hard instead of crispy. Gamja tang was the best dish of our visit. Not all korean restaurant would serve banchan here. The stir fried beef and squid was just normal. The potato banchan was the best with good texture, nice flavour and not too salty. The bean sprout was too salty though. If someone ordered korean bbq, you would unavoidably smells like bbq after having meals in the restaurant. The staff are nice and friendly.

Tasty food and lovely service! It's so nice to have some hot soup and spicy food in so cold winter. And thank for Chiran's patient service and help.
