What diners say
🚇 Earlsfield 🍺 £6.20 Amstel The Jolly Gardeners sits close to King George’s Park in Earlsfield, southwest London. The nearest station is Earlsfield. The pub dates back to 1867 and was a Courage house for many years; a trademark golden Courage cockerel still stands proudly above the swing sign. This is a traditionally decorated one-bar pub with a warm, rustic feel. The horseshoe-shaped servery is clad in timber, with the bar wrapping around it. There’s a snug to the right and a cosy seating area with a fireplace to the left. The decor consists of a boarded floor, a few poser tables, a green banquette, white, grey and exposed-brick walls, photos of regulars, and a brilliant large black-and-white photo of the pub from yesteryear. Just off the back of the main bar is a good-sized dining/function room with a hatch to the kitchen. At the rear is a colourful decked beer garden with plenty of benches. The beer selection features familiar favourites and one cask ale. I went for an Amstel; my pint hit the spot, price point was about average. Food wise it’s burgers and roasts on a Sunday. There is also a resident kitchen serving European-influenced Japanese sushi. I arrived at 3 p.m. on a bright Saturday afternoon in November. The pub was fairly busy with a strong local crowd, most were watching the Scotland v All Blacks rugby match. I loved the atmosphere—warm, friendly, and very local. Service was spot on, and the team were welcoming. The pub hosts regular quiz nights and shows live Premier League and Champions League matches. All told, this was a cracking visit. It’s the kind of place you can wander into, grab a seat, and instantly feel at home. Sensible beer prices, popular food, and plenty to keep you entertained. I had a great time here—definitely worth a look if you’re in the area. Very laid back, The Jolly Gardeners is a super duper pub on Garratt lane. Lovely people and super service from the staff, accompanied by a smile and a joke or six. Best Uber service from the Econocar parked outside in Lydden Road. This car is the jetsons on the street. Flying soon. X

I've known this pub for many years before the fabulous food by Adam + team with sublime service led by Steve - it's never been better! If it was at the bottom of our road I'd be asking for a job! Never had a bad anything, need to make it our regular! (wont be good for the waistline though! ;-)

Booked private dining here for a special occasion. From the canapees to the main and dessert, everything was exceptional. I couldn't fault a thing. Service was impeccable too, I really can't praise the team at the Jolly Gardener highly enough. They do a cracking Sunday lunch too! Can recommend :D
