About The Frenchgate Restaurant & Hotel
Richmond's steep, cobbled Frenchgate is home to The Frenchgate Restaurant & Hotel, a small nine-room hotel built around its own restaurant. The market town sits on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with Richmond Castle within easy reach, making it a good base for exploring both the town's historic streets and the surrounding countryside.
The nine rooms keep things intimate rather than corporate, with free WiFi throughout and the usual practical extras covered, including luggage storage and a laundry service for longer stays. Downstairs, the restaurant and bar form the heart of the place, and breakfast is included to set guests up for a day out. A meeting room is also available for those combining business with a stay.
Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward, and the location on Frenchgate puts other pubs, bars and restaurants within walking distance, along with nearby entertainment options. It suits visitors who want a proper meal and a comfortable room without needing to travel far from the Dales themselves.
